Block Planes
The block plane is so called because it was intended to cut the end grain of sycamore or maple to make butcher's chopping blocks. Low angle cutters and compact precision give an accurate finish on end grain and fine chamfering work. Screw adjusted cutter being pitched at 12.1/2 degrees is ideal for plastic laminate. Adjustable mouth - wide for coarse work, narrow for fine shavings from an awkward grain. The 09.1/2 model also features an adjustable mouth with screw adjusted cutter which has a lever for lateral alignment.
