A selection of cabinet scrapers designed to produce a fine finish on solid wood and veneers. Very useful for smoothing knots, burrs, crossed grain and removing old surface finishes. Cabinet scrapers remove fine shavings from wood to give a very smooth finish. Unlike an abrasive it does not produce dust which can clog the grain. The cut is controlled by finger pressure to bow out the blade, varying the curve and localising the cut. Can be easily re-sharpened with a file. The scrapers are traditionally sharpened by first producing a square edge on an oil stone and then stroking each edge with a rounded metal object at an angle to produce a burr edge.
Available in rectangular (100x50, 125x62 or 150x62mm) hollow and gooseneck shapes.
