This type of blade designed for use in the hand held piercing saw does have as of its nature to be used with care.  The cut should always be made on the backward stroke with the teeth pointing in this direction when fitted.  The means that the blade and saw frame are in the tension which avoids the blade being broken if for any reason it is twisted or becomes lodged in the material.
